However, it leaked badly when he had an accident in his bed and we ended up with a very wet mattress. We called the company to report the defective mattress protector and they put us through an extensive process of collecting information from the protector, faxing in multiple documents, designating the leaky areas of the protector and finally shipping it back to them. We then received a call from Protect-a-bed and said that they concluded that YES- the protector we had was indeed leaky (gee thanks!) but it was user error and NOT a manufacturer defect so they are not responsible! The customer service agent told me that we must not have followed the directions to wash and dry it properly which cause the protective barrier to warp. I responded that we had not even washed it prior to putting it on his bed so it could not have been our fault. Anyhow- I definitely do not recommend... It is NOT waterproof. Our daughter has this on her bed and occasionally overflows her pull-up at night...the matress underneath gets wet. It is NOT waterproof!!!Water resistant perhaps. Also, it is not a matress encasement, and therefore cannot truly protect from dust mites or other such "bugs". Spend your money elsewhere. |
